The Dalai Lama On Spiritual Laziness

Laziness will stop your progress in your spiritual practice. One can be deceived by three types of laziness: the laziness of indolence, which is the wish to procrastinate; the laziness of inferiority, which is doubting your capabilities; and the laziness that is the attachment to negative actions, or putting great effort into non-virtue.

May you find peace in this moment.

  1. I really struggle with the concept of ‘laziness’ because it’s something I was often accused of as a child. I feel it is a word that lacks compassion. I have learned to see my so called lazy behaviour as a sign that I need to reconnect with myself which often looks like being more lazy or procrastinating. I doubt the dalai lama lacks compassion but I can’t see past that word!

  2. Nice blog you’ve got going here, brother. Let me know if you find that perfect sandwich! Peace and best, John
